COUTURE — Gold Denim Corseted Skirt

A couture commission built from a client's own gold metallic designer jeans, upcycled into a corseted skirt with garter clips. Almost all of the denim went into this one skirt, because the hook and eye panel, the waistband and the boning channels all had to be cut from it. There was no more of that denim, so everything had to be right the first time. Beneath it sit two layers of tulle over a layer of silk, trimmed in remnant laces hand sewn to the skirt. Like all FERN couture, this piece will never be made again exactly as shown — each commission is singular by design.
